Dr. Nawal Mustafa holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with specialized training in neuropsychology. She is passionate about helping people strengthen their psychological and cognitive wellbeing by combining scientific knowledge with practical, compassionate care.

She works with individuals facing challenges such as mood and anxiety concerns, reduced quality of life related to stress or low self-efficacy, and cognitive changes associated with medical or neurological conditions. Her approach is collaborative and holistic, blending evidence-based therapies with strategies that promote brain health, productivity, and emotional resilience.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Mustafa is also an educator and advocate for accessible mental health knowledge. She is committed to making psychology and neuroscience understandable and applicable in everyday life, whether by supporting individuals directly, partnering with organizations to build healthier workplaces, or contributing to the development of clinical resources. Her goal is always the same: to empower people with tools and strategies that lead to meaningful change.

Education and Experience

Dr. Mustafa completed a B.Sc. in Behaviour, Cognition, and Neuroscience, followed by an M.A.–Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Neuropsychology at the University of Windsor, Canada. She went on to complete her predoctoral residency in Clinical Psychology through Vancouver Coastal Health, where she trained within the Neuropsychology Track.

She has worked in hospital, rehabilitation, and outpatient settings with individuals facing a wide range of psychiatric, medical, and neurological conditions. Her training includes conducting comprehensive neuropsychological and psychodiagnostic assessments, providing individual and group psychotherapy, supporting cognitive rehabilitation, and delivering psychoeducation to patients and families. She is formally trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Brief Psychodynamic Therapy.

Her clinical interests include brain health, emotion regulation, cognitive restructuring, and strategies that support daily productivity and overall wellbeing. She values an integrative approach guided by the biopsychosocial model, ensuring that care addresses not only symptoms but also the broader context of each client’s life.

Dr. Mustafa is currently in the process of registering with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
